Mark Singleton trained at the Architectural Association, where he became interested in GRP and ran a manufacturing company. In 1990 he won What’s New in Building ‘Product of the Year’ award for a one-piece GRP Dormer Window. In 1998, a SMART award enabled development of innovative wastewater treatment using 4 new pultruded profiles. The Startlink Lightweight Building opened in 2012. It is 3 storeys high and built entirely of pultrusions, without steel, structural timber or concrete. It meets Passivhaus standards. Spacelink is a truss made of pultruded fiberglass box and tube without steel or adhesive. It won the Travis Perkins Innovation Award 2016.
