Giuseppina Amato is a lecturer in Structural Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast. She obtained her PhD and first post-doctoral position at University of Palermo working on seismic design of masonry and RC structures. After completing her PhD, Giusepplina worked for a few years as a design structural engineer.

Giuseppina expanded her expertise in Trinity College, Dublin, where she worked on design of safety barriers meeting sustainability and eco-friendly criteria. A second European project focused on standardisation of Vehicle Restrain Systems.
