Daniel Cardoso is an engineer graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2006) and holds a Master’s and Doctoral degree from COPPE / UFRJ (2009 and 2014). His PhD research was developed at the University of Pittsburgh (USA), where he investigated the structural behaviour of fibre reinforced polymer composites. He is currently an assistant professor in the Civil Engineering Department of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), with interest in research on concrete structures and polymer and cement composites. He also has a rich experience in engineering practice, built from the intense work on large steel and reinforced concrete structures in the bridges, ports and industrial areas.
