The sixth Advanced Composites in Construction Conference was held at Riddel Hall at Queen’s University Belfast.
Over 75 delegates from 10 different countries gathered to discuss the latest research and innovations on the use of composites in the construction industry.
Topics included all-FRP bridges, the use of FRP stay-in-place formwork, connection methods for FRP materials and FRP strengthening for concrete, masonry, timber and steel structures.
The three day conference also saw the Network Group for Composites in Construction run its second Early Career Researcher competition which was won by Lucian Blaga of Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht, with Emma Reid-McIntyre of the University of Edinburgh and Tien Thuy Nguyen from the University of Warwick as runners up.
